Jewelry artist, Lisa LaBonte Meyers, mother of 3 boys, baseball coach, community fundraiser, and recreational kick boxer, was born and raised on the coast of Southern Maine. Upon receiving her Bachelor's degree in Communications from Ithaca College, she settled in Washington, D.C. and began her career in advertising at The Washington Post.
After completing the work for her Master's degree from The American University, and desiring a new creative outlet, Lisa began handcrafting jewelry in 1995 and soon she developed a loyal following of customers. In 2000, she left The Washington Post to spend more time with her children. This satisfying career move also allowed Lisa more time and freedom to devote to her fast-growing jewelry enterprise.
Lisa's jewelry designs reflect inspirations drawn from her childhood in coastal Maine, summers spent in the mountains of Colorado, and the quest for a feminine aesthetic in her family of all boys. Lisa's delicate, handcrafted jewelry combines luminous freshwater pearls and a variety of rich gemstones such as deep purple amethyst, icy blue chalcedony, golden citrine, rainbow tourmaline, and handcrafted sterling silver imported from the Hill Tribes of Northern Thailand.
Lisa's signature line of wire cuffs, chokers and pendants are crafted in a labor-intensive process whereby she hand knits fine gauge wire with brilliant freshwater pearls, Swarovski crystal, gemstones, Czech glass, and Japanese seed beads. Each piece of her delicate beaded jewelry is a one-of-a-kind piece of art.
Lisa resides in Kensington, MD with her husband and three sons.
